The Foundation is located in the north-east region of Victoria within the federal electorate of Indi. The electorate of Indi is an original ‘federation seat’ established in 1901 and is called for the aboriginal name for the Murray River.
The first member for Indi was Sir Isaac Isaacs who held the seat between 1901 -1906 and later became Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia and then the first Australian-born Governor-General of Australia.
The F1901 website is a work in progress and will remain so for some time to come. Consider it a live ‘beta site’ in old fashion technical terms. Progressive changes will reflect the ideas and project concepts that have been developed over the last ten years of research that has been undertaken. The frequency of updates will depend on the level of interest and donations made by Foundation friends. Dismiss
